My Name Is Not Jill.

Anyone else ever look in their rear-view mirror, see two black, identical or very similar cars driving behind them, and think Shit, they found me, they know about everything I downloaded from Napster that time when I was twelve and get all amped up and check the top speed on your speedometer to see if you can outrun them (you can’t)? And then feel just a little (lot) disappointed when those cars pass you on the left in a very law-abiding manner and it turns out they’re driven by, like, a little old lady and a family of four?

Anyone?

Asking for a friend.

Hello, welcome, I’m so glad you’re here! It’s true, my name is not Jill. My name is Jessy, but it wasn’t a Jessy going up the hill with Jack to fetch a pail of water, so…there you go. (Get it? Jack of all trades? Jill of all trades? And there’s more where that came from!)

am a bit of a jill-of-all-trades. Until very recently, I had a full-time career in the traditional sense, but it was never a good fit for me (more on that later). So I left. And now, I wear the hats of stable hand, office assistant, landscaper, IT-er, and volunteer sea turtle rehabber. And maybe there’s more coming! The only limit is the number of hours I’m able to stay awake in a day (spoiler alert: it’s about 10-12).

What’s the point of this blog? Great question. I’m not quite sure yet myself. Sometimes it will be sage nuggets of wisdom that I’ve collected during my sage, wise life. Sometimes it will be home project successes and flops–think DIY, cooking, and art attempted by someone with no artistic instinct. Sometimes it will be a blurb on something that’s caught my attention (expect a very enthusiastic post about water bears). And sometimes, I might just have something I want to say.

Thank you for coming, and enjoy the ride! Please keep your hands and feet inside the car until the ride has come to a complete stop.
